Praise Picks

Ok, 3 posts in 1 day is a lot, but that's life... I haven't purchased new praise tunes in awhile, so I'm passing on what I've found in my hunt, and hopefully this will spur on others (Chip) to add their current picks. That would potentially be a sweet playlist!

Ok here ya go... you can hear these on iTunes Store or Wal-mart music downloads.

Birthday Par-tay

The Gib 3 year old celebration! First we couldn't help ourselves and opened Aunt Janna's present with new shirts for all the kids (they put them on immediately - good work). Then we went to the duck pond and Gib and the girls patiently closed their eyes waiting for his surprise. He was ecstatic to receive his "Whitening DeQueen" bike. He had been riding a Disney princesses model so that might explain some of his excitement. That night we had some friends over and had cake and some dress up with his new superman get-up. (ps. Secret Health Weapon

I must tell you. No one knows about this top secret substitute method, but I'm sure it will sweep the nation. As you may know, I'm a coffee junkie (snob)... and I prefer cream & sugar (half & half, and raw sugar, if you want me to be snobbishly specific). Well... I'm getting older and I ain't getting skinnier. So I figured, since I consume half & half every single day with my aluminum travel mug-o-coffee, I should probably start by cutting down on that avenue of fat intake. Switch to whole milk. I did, and it's, well, ok. I've done 2% and skim in the past... not an option. I like strong coffee, and the cream cuts the bitter edge. Weak milk just adds water. Blah.

So this whole milk is "ok" and while I'm trying enjoying the switch, I discover that the coffee I mix up for Ang tastes a lot more like it's got half & half in it... thing is: Ang is drinking Lactaid whole milk now, which makes her tummy very happy. Weird. So after 2 weeks of this, I put it in my strong coffee instead of the whole milk. No way! Are you for real? This stuff is thicker than whole milk (like half & half), tastes great, and... get this... is a touch sweet, so you don't have to add as much sugar either. Sweet you ask? I don't know why, but there is no sugar in there, just the milk and the Lactaid enzyme. Must make it sweet, I guess. So now Ang complains about how quickly HER milk disappears since I've switched to the lighter side.

The nutrition labels are below (Lactaid in blue, Half & Half in black). Here's the facts (I did the math on Excel): 2 Tablespoons of Half & Half has a daily recommended amount of 5% Total Fat and 10% Saturated Fat. Lactaid Whole has 1.5% Total Fat and 3.1% Saturated Fat... less than a third of the fat of Half & Half!! A third of it!

I challenge you to go try it out... you'll like it!!

Bananarama

Sadie just started eating baby food and really likes it. Note the bananas in her hair in the one photo -- a sure sign of enjoyment. The girls made a chart for her to track how much she eats. I didn't burst their bubble by telling them that Sadie doesn't really care how many stickers she gets on her chart, just how much food is going in her mouth. The kids also rode around the yard on a bubba that's in the garage of the house we're staying at. I'm sure Gib thinks it's ours now and possession is 9/10ths of the law, right? Sadie has started partying in the middle of the night so I am presently sleeping while typing in an effort to regain those lost hours. G'night!
