More "Development" (now and recently)

As you can see, there's always something going on around here... from Gib getting a first hack at 2-wheeled training; Chip & Sadie's odd but very cute feeding lesson; Sadie learning to walk (or is it learning to push a shopping cart?); Gib doing tumbling (that ends with a spirited 'discussion' with sister Sadie); and Mike-On-Bike! Mark it down, Oct 7 '07 is the day Mike and Laney both first rode a Honda XR50!! We'll get you some Laney footage once she completes here initial ground-school training! :) Mike's probably going to get this model bike for his new commute. We may buy this XR50 we're borrowing...if only to further entice Vee to return to the west coast! :)

7 yrs ago...

Seven years ago this month... somewhere near Iraq -- I had just 1 month left before I got to go home to Ang & a blonde-haired crawling 6-month old Laney! My how time crawled that month. Like all old people say, "seems like yesterday."

Mya the Bee is 6 ! ! !

Mya just turned six! She had a two-party day, with friends Alison, Stephanie, Katie and Troy coming over for a swim party mid-day, and a family party after dinner when dad came home. Also pictured is her new yellow "moto-bike" which she likes since it is colored like a bee. And the sunset on her birthday was so beautiful we had to include that too!

Riders of the High Desert

Here's some eyewitness photos of Laney riding with and without training wheels. You can see Gib was ready to go on a biking expedition, while Mya was happy to push the utter limits of the tricycle (I kid you not, she tries to jump that thing on and off the dropoff edges of the sidewalk...she's nuts). And then we have the picture of the big race down the driveway, where speed demon Mya actually won on a tricycle! And then we have loungewear Gibson, riding the silver/purple trike in his jammies and no shoes. Nice.

I love the look of concentration on Laney's face.

Birthday Par-tay

The Gib 3 year old celebration! First we couldn't help ourselves and opened Aunt Janna's present with new shirts for all the kids (they put them on immediately - good work). Then we went to the duck pond and Gib and the girls patiently closed their eyes waiting for his surprise. He was ecstatic to receive his "Whitening DeQueen" bike. He had been riding a Disney princesses model so that might explain some of his excitement. That night we had some friends over and had cake and some dress up with his new superman get-up. (ps.
