Our Forests Are Safe

Meet your U.S. Forest Service's four newest certified Junior Rangers: Mya, Laney, Logan & Gib. Here is the official swearing in (I kid you not!) by one of the Park Rangers at the Sequoia National Park during our camping trip!

All of them completed their field research workbooks, earning the basic Junior Ranger badge along with the first level, the Jayhawk badge. Additionally, Logan showed great determination and amazed the ranger by completing the second level (the Arrowhead badge) for a total of three phases completed in just two days. The astounded ranger said, "I think that's the first time I've seen anyone do THREE at once, Logan!!"

Great job, campers!

Weekend fun

Chip's been getting drum lessons from Mya -- she says he's doing okay but could use some more practice. Scott's been able to put the snow plow blade to good use in Southern CA. Slave labor has also been introduced in our house to prepare the motocross track.

And if you've ever wondered how many people can fit in a 15' pool - we've got the answer.

Great idea for Father's Day!

Okay, it's Ang -- I thought of the most wonderful gift to give the two Grandpas for Father's Day. I made this discovery last night when most people were sleeping but I was spending quality time with my youngest child. Here it is...I think Sadie should go and visit both Grandpas and here is why - Grandpa H could just take his hearing aids out and wouldn't hear the high pitched scream that she has perfected and Grandpa G gets up at 4:30 am anyway so she will have someone to party with early in the morning. Let me know what you think and I'm gonna go try and sneak a nap while there are other adults in the house (yes, I am referring to Chip and Vee, but sleep deprived people have lower standards!)

Chip & Vanessa are here!

Here's our first day of riding in the backyard. We hadn't planned on photographing this event, but luckily, Vanessa is into photography and snapped all these great shots. Chip's previous riding experience came right back--as you can see he was ripping it up on the RM250!! (Sorry I don't have a pic of Vanessa today!)
