Sadie is Not Zero Anymore!

Sadie seemed to know it was her birthday today. She loved her candle and cake and especially her cards! They made her laugh and she was in the best mood all day. She also woke me up early in remembrance of her birth so I wished her happy birthday but then convinced her to go back to sleep for awhile. You can see by the second pic she was ready for her nap just as cake time was winding down.

Ms. Spelling and Ms. N. Tooth

So here is Gib's paper from church. I started laughing when I realized the helper in the classroom must have asked him what his name was and he said, "Dibson" and then when she asked him to spell it I'm sure he said, "Dee, Eye, Bee, Ett, Oh, En."

Drumroll please...here is Laney's self-portrait minus one tooth. It was so loose and she let me push on it and when I did it literally fell out of her mouth. She was very excited and wanted to know what I was going to give her. I was like, "Laney, what about the Tooth Fairy?" And she answered, "Mom, it's you." So she got a note from Mom and Dad and a Sack-uh-joo-wee-uh dollar.

Oh, and we just saw this movie with that Matt Damon guy. Chip, he's the one that made that popular movie with his friend, Ben Affleck. It was Bourne Yesterday or Bourne on the Fourth of July or something with Bourne -- anyway, it was really good. Oh, and it was the first one, not the one that's in theaters!

Lu's Bathing Suit

You've probably all seen the pic of Lu's bathing suit on the stuffed dog. Well, have no fear, we were able to get a pic when she was here for you to enjoy!

Mya the Bee is 6 ! ! !

Mya just turned six! She had a two-party day, with friends Alison, Stephanie, Katie and Troy coming over for a swim party mid-day, and a family party after dinner when dad came home. Also pictured is her new yellow "moto-bike" which she likes since it is colored like a bee. And the sunset on her birthday was so beautiful we had to include that too!

Petco Park

Here's us enjoying the sun and 70 degree ocean breeze in the early evening of July 8th at Petco Park just 2 blocks from the coast thayre at the south end of the Gaslamp district in San Diego. Brand new park, and very open and airy. The kids were so happy to be there and thanked us many times. We did get a little light harassment for being in full Cub regalia and posing under the honorable Cub flag but everyone down there was super friendly.

Padres-4, Braves-5

What a great outing for the kids and us at the home of the Padres in downtown San Diego. The best part besides having your kids' first MLB game be at one of the most beautiful parks in the nation, and getting to witness two former Cubs 90 feet apart on the same team--Michael Barrett (C) and Future Hall of Famer Greg Maddox (P)...yes, that's his full name now. FHOF as we call him (pronounced FEE-hoff). Here's a couple shots from the right field upper deck seats with my Tamron 300mm zoom. Maddox pitching to Barrett (warmup), Maddox getting grounding out on his way to first (being chased by everyone's favorite ump, CP Buckner), a Brave busting a bat, Chipper Jones making contact, Maddox at bat (fouling off) with Barrett leaving first, and Maddox & Barrett on the mound...thaire were several visits, as FHOF wasn't locating his pitches very well that night. Their 9th inning rally came up 1 run short. Oh well. It was a beautiful evening.

'Scuse me, I ordered the LARGE pink shades

You decide - photoshopped, or are the tinted manhole covers really this huge?

(Good choice, Vee. Seriously. No, seriously.)

Hey Chip, I don't care how small the Ride is... you still need a "hemmit!"

Trip to China...er...Chino

The kids call it "Chai-no" but it's really pronounced "Chee-no". It's the "Planes of Fame" Air Museum at Chino, CA. Pretty neat place with lots of restoration going on and five warbird-packed hangars. They have a great airshow every May too. Here's the kids baking (no, not basking) in the sun--it was 99F and somewhat humid.

We would have posted sooner but someone stole our bandwidth (and then went back home to Florida) you know who you are

For the 4th of July we went to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and had a great time! There was a band and food and bouncy things and presidential look-alikes in addition to the regular museum and Air Force One exhibits. It was lots of fun. And since our "dinner with a ranger" didn't work out there's always "picture with a prez."
