Shreddin'

So, my day was fun-filled. I left Chip with the kids, went to a doctor's appointment for my toe, had minor surgery, came home and Chip made me sit down and put my foot up and he fixed dinner for all of us. Here is a video of what was going on while I was away.

Mya's Ark Picture

The arts n crafts shop is busy as ever. Here is a recent production from the Crayons Division. I swear if we put Mya in an isolation tank with chips, crayons, tape, lemonade, scissors and paper...you could come back in 6 weeks, crack open the door and she'd still be working on some new masterpiece.. Would she run to the door to escape her solitary cell, you ask? Doubtful. I fully expect, 'Hi Dad! Can you get me some more chips?' as she happily continues her fevorish production inside her scotchtaped artwork wallpapered bunker!

Vegas Hangout

Just to prove Don and family really are moving to Vegas... Here's proof that we've already been there in person to harass Don (the first member of the migration) with our small children and our need for a regular metered IV drip of Starbucks.

Now we plan to go snatch Chip from Vegas for a little change of pace from his unpacking duties --we have some cleaning that needs to be done here and some yard work.

***this is my 1st mobile post (mopo, Vanessa?) so parden me if the pic is missing or this looks like it was typed by a 1st grader.

Now we plan to go snatch Chip from Vegas this week to stay with us and entertain or kids for 8 days!

Seven years ago this month... somewhere near Iraq -- I had just 1 month left before I got to go home to Ang & a blonde-haired crawling 6-month old Laney! My how time crawled that month. Like all old people say, "seems like yesterday."

downs and ups

So, I had a little scare tonight. Gib runs up to me crying that his body hurt. For some that don't know, he says this a lot and it could mean anything from hunger to dry skin. But this time he had tears and was almost doubled over. He pointed to a place right above his tummy and just kept saying it hurt. I was thinking about what my next move might be -- loading up the kids, which ER to go to. Well, I had picked him up and was trying to comfort him when he let out a large burp. This made me stop and think. I had split an A & W between the three of them for dinner and since Mya didn't get much I had opened a new can, given her a little and set it down on the table. I asked Gib if he had had the remaining root beer. He said yes but that it was so he would grow bigger. This was followed by a few more burps and when I asked if he felt better he said, "No...well, attually yes, I do." My prayers of gratitude were quickly given and everything returned to normal (except my blood pressure, of course.)
And, on a totally different note, I am reporting to all that Gib no longer has his pacifier and, drumroll please, Mya no longer has a purple blanket! Yes, as of a few days ago they are both sleeping through the night without the aid of boppy or blanket. For those of you who thought Mya would leave for college with blanket in tow, I must admit I am shocked too. It wasn't planned, forced or even plotted. "and we know that all things work together for good..." amen
And finally, here are some pics -- three from this cool park we went to and one from lego building time.

You mean this trick, Chip?

Here's the winner of the X-games best FMX trick, Kyle Loza. Not only was this his first X-games ever, but he's doin' big airs for Christ.

"How cool is that?!"
